NEW EVENT - Den Of Woe!

I really don't get what all the commotion is all about, it is perfectly reasonable for an AA+ to be more powerful than an A+ stat-wise.

On average; these new event AA/+s seem to exist between standard A/+s and 'oldschool' AA/+s; once again; perfectly reasonable taking into account the method of proliferation and that they are low bp; so let's call them Aa/+s

combo-friendly AAs are not a 'new' thing.

Lind+m, NWD+m, MLD+m, Furnace+, led by a Moon Sea+m
is a perfectly viable hybrid winged wyrm AA-compatible team WITH Agility AND Preemptive Strike (to mitigate the danger of an enemy with superior agility to a certain degree; regardless of what happens, your Moon Sea and Furnace are probably knocking two mons out before you get hit even if their agi outclasses yours)

Stats: 62k/48k/51k w/ agi, preemptive
(assuming max achievement 5.5, and player guild match)
You could swap moon sea or one of the others out for a banished+m (with ded) which would work fine in that combo too, which would add ded to the combo making it all the more formidable

WWE+m, WWSP+m, Valk+m, SGQ+, led by a Crimson Dragonoid+m
is a perfectly viable pure psycho winged brute AA team. with agi, ipa

Stats: 53k/57k/49k w/ agi, ipa
(assuming max achievement 5.5, and player guild match)
Crimson Dragonoid is going to have a guaranteed kill first round, team also has ipa, which is good.

And... Rancor probably has something like first one with wyrms as well

What are the new *Cast combos? (calculations assuming that all mons are +m)

for Impulse: Talos, Blood Blob, Blood Flame, Fire Core, Rot Cast (bad: no on agility, yes on blood blob; preemptive strike is 'too little, too late' not worth the 2x combo; Creation & impulse)
final stats: 45k/43k/56k w/ preemptive
(USING {as stated in this thread} Aa+m stats as 9.9k/9k/9k, max achievement 5.5, and player guild match)

for Psycho: Vic colossus, Rampage, TVG, Seeker Quad, Hallucination Cast (decent, has agi, ipa, 2x combo; creation & psycho)
final stats: 47k/44k/61k w/agi, ipa
(assuming Aa+m stats are 9k/9.9k/9k, max achievement 5.5, and player guild match)

for Covert: Lord of Blight, Dust Colossus, Wind Core, Colossus of Origin, Assassin Cast (bad, not as bad as impulse, but bad; has IPA, that's about it.)
final stats: 44k/48k/58k w/ipa
(assuming Aa+m stats are 9k/9k/9.9k, max achievement 5.5, and player guild match)

These aren't 'terrible', and the psycho one is above average even; but they ALL pale in comparison to 'oldschool' AA-centric combos, or even classic popular combos like psycho winged brutes/sin demons. Creation seems to be high health oriented; which frankly isn't all that impressive. Since most people use "target lowest hp enemy first", these new Aa/+ *casts might last maybe an extra turn or two of full assault from the opposing team after the other four in the combo are wiped out in the first one or two salvos. There really IS a reason that attack-heavy combos are the most popular ones around! (remember will perry, a.k.a. "The Fridge"? it didn't really work there, and it won't work here!)

You're absolutely right about these *casts being good for low bp honor farming, but the numbers simply don't indicate that they will be game-breaking in terms of standard pvp!

good break down, but i would personally go with a hybrid for impulse, and just buy some spirits. what i would build as an impulse player is rot, assassin, hallucination, quadriga, and one more psycho creation, probably wwc. yes, it misses out on combos(except creation), but it hits hard and fast, lol. also, when it comes to aa/+ teams, hp is such that attack's effectiveness is lessened quite a bit, lol, and 3 AA+ with agi is just OP to the extreme, even if they're "crappy" AA+. as for psycho, if you have the ep for it, the team to build will be Nyar, Devoid, Urth, Hallucination, and Quadriga, lol. now this is even more op than the impulse hybrid i described earlier, it's on a par with Anna, minos, dhr, chtulu, and pit for impulse, though a hair weaker, lol

haha, I actually WAS wondering about how an all event Aa+ team would do.

I guess these new guys could be a pretty effective stop-gap for higher-tier players who are working on getting their AA+ rarity combos. I don't feel like doing all the math now, but I reckon Dru/the 3 casts/ and vlad might actually be the only under 100ep AA rarity team

lol,yes, but i wouldn't build that team. i would instead go for urth, nyar, devoid, hallucination, and one of the other two casts to make a rarity combo with the new casts, lol.

so ranking checks? How many floors do you guys think we'll need to climb to maintain our rank from this morning?

Two comments for this new event:

1) Since the rankings will be mix among the 3 guilds i'm suspecting the top 500 to be divided like this: 50% Sin, 30% Tyranny and 20% Rancor. Which means that the prices for the Tyranny & Covert AA will be higher than those of Sin... Well, there are more Sin players anyway which equals more demand and that should level prices.

2) I was looking forward to beating the Master Summoner in this event, but seems like A-Team won't be implementing it during this event.

Jessie, accounts are tied to your Android/iPhone device, but on a computer, nothing is really stopping you from creating multiple virtual devices, lol.

Based on todays rankings, it seems that 2,200 could be the cut-off point, since the person ranked 500 had 1,100, provided people actually do double their floors. Not sure about that though.

Interestingly, there are only 68 Rancor players in the top 500 and about 6 of those are just barely in.

I'm not surprised. The rankings will probably more than double. For Top 500 at least. These are AA winged demons that we're talking about. At least the sin one is (probably the other two)
SIN > TYRANNY > RANCOR
Always been like that and always will be. Better for Rancor in my opinion. Fewer AAs = greater value for each one.

Man, we (Rancor) are almost an extinct race in the rankings...

I agree... Now people are gonna make an extra push since many will think the same thing. Expect the second leg of the race to be harder.

Yes the top 500 will be mixed guild rank, so there will be a total of 500 AA, and those 500 AA will be divided by guild which leads to believe that some AA will be rarer than others (*Rancor*)
