Slumbering Breath Question

I got Blood Blob and Arachene a few days ago, I was wondering how good is the Slumbering Breath ability?

Personally I think it's quite possibly the worst skill in the game. Your guy will use slumbering breath the first round instead of attacking (which is bad) and it isn't even a guaranteed effect. There have been plenty of times I've watched my witch of snakes hit someone with it and then watch it attack immediately afterwards.

Only skill that could possibly be worse is critical hit up since all of my guys with it seem to miss their first hit 90% of the time but that may just be bad luck on my part.
