Trading/gifting gold?

Is this possible? Seems like it should be but I can't figure out how.

Nope. Have to use the auctions for that. It makes it a bit harder for people to safeguard their gold from attackers... Although not too difficult seeing the number of auctions that allow people to "bank" their gold and keep it safe for a few days.

That's so strange.....I wanted to give my friend, that just started, some gold to help him out and I can't because the game doesn't allow me to trade gold.

Just have him set up an auction for a C card and then buy it off him with gold. Might take you a bit to find the actual auction though.
