One thing that bothers me with this approach: Somewhere else on this forum someone repeatedly posted needing only 62-67 (i think it was) skill mobs to reach 20. By the above aproach, the minimum required is 82 skill mobs, and that is assuming 100% success rate which isn't very likely.

So, bs or does anyone know of an even better method?

Going by that you would need:

01
02 - 1
03 - 1
04 - 1
05 - 1+1
06 - 1+1+1
07 - 1+1+1+1
08 - 1+1+1+1
09 - 1+1+1+1 + 1+1
10 - 1+1+1+1 + 1+1
11 - 1+1+1+1 + 1+1 + 1+1+1
12 - 1+1+1+1 + 1+1 + 1+1+1
etc...

That would use far more skill mobs than the previous method.

Can you link to the post that claims 60ish skills to get to 20? Also depends on when that was posted. I feel that Ateam has repeatedly tweak the skill level up rate since it was released. It used to be pretty easy to skill up to 6-7 by sacrificing level 1 skill when it first came out. It is now nearly impossible to sacrifice singly and get to skill 5 much less higher.

That was before the tweaking where its easier to make a skill 4-5 to sac. I feel its harder now so its more expensive. I'm seeing more failures at getting to skill 2-3 than ever before whereas 2 months ago when skills first appear that never happens.

This for sure. I think i had 4 failures in a row getting a new card from agi 1 to 2 recently (which really pissed me off lol).

On the other hand, due to the small sample sizes, it could also just be streaks of bad luck. I had a perfect (no failures) 4-7 skillup a few days ago, feeding it with (1+1+1) to 5, (1+1+1)+(1+1) to 6 and (1+1+1)+(1+1) to 7. - Which again could just be a streak of great luck

I guess I've been pretty lucky. I've been able to get to 5 using single and usually it take 2-3 each level after 3. Sometime it only takes me 1 each to go from 3-4-5. All my mains are at skill level 5 right now waiting to get more. But I guess after reading this I better start using 3-4 to sacrafice now.

More recently I've had almost no trouble getting my guys to skill level 6 or even 7 while using (1) sacs, then moving straight on to (4) sacs to increase past there. If you had a big enough sample size you could determine if it is more efficient to build (2) or even (3) to sac from 4-7, but I've had failures where I've used a (3) on a monster that had a lvl 4 skill, wasting quite a bit of skill ups in one shot.
