Noob questions about BP Empty Noob questions about BP

Post by BLeezdBaTTLeReD Fri Feb 22, 2013 12:27 pm

So before i start i'd like to say this is the first time I've ever played this type of game so i'm trying to learn as i go along with reading the help in-game so please don't flame me.

Im currently Lvl 49 with 309 max EP and 80 BP. I just figured out that my formation BP cannot go over my max BP, feel so dumb Embarassed I read that starting off i should use all my skill points towards EP but now I've collected higher BP monsters that i cant even use because my BP is too low. So here are my questions:

1. Whats the fastest way to get skill points to boost my BP?

2. Should i start boosting my BP or keep working on EP?

3. What stat is more important when choosing monsters? Before i figured out the formation BP thing i mentioned above i thought the higher BP the better the monster so i kept choosing high BP monsters but now I'm confused, lol.

Thanks in advance for any and all help. Very Happy

Not that I am a very experienced player but I will give it a go.

Q1: did you fill all your ally spots already? If not do that because each new ally will give you 5 points you can put into your BP.

If all are filled you can try to remove inactive ones (players that do not progress to a higher level are probably not playing anymore). I believe your EP and BP points will level out (5 points are removed). So in your case they will most likely come from your EP. Then find a new ally and put the 5 points into your BP. [edit: not sure if it is still working this way]

Q2. I would put something in your BP at least to be able to attack once with the formation you want to build. Otherwise there is no point to it. Unless you are not interested in battling or these type of BP events.

Q3. Depends. BP of a monter determines its max stats in total. So more BP would mean stronger monster. But it could be weak in attack and strong in defence or HP.
I always go for high attack. But skills are also important off course.

Look for the formation guide in the general forum. Or google for 'dark summoner wiki'.

To make a formation you should not only look for the highest BP monsters, you should be looking for a like species that matches your guild and has an agility monster already. You really need to balance your combos with your monster's skills/stats to come up with the best team. Read [url=this thread][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] to get a good idea of what you need to look for when building a team, and you can use the visual bestiary tool in my signature to come up with some team concepts.

As for the EP or BP debate, the more EP you have the faster you level and therefore the more skill points you have, until you hit level 80 you don't really need to worry about your formation, so just go 100% EP until you finalize what team you want to make then make sure you have enough BP to use it when you finally achieve the team.

Don't worry about being a "noob", everyone on the forum here is pretty nice and helpful so ask away.
