Battle Attack Order ...

When I watch my team Attacking they seem to make some stupid decisions. For example, they could take out 2 or 3 of my opponents because they are low on HP ... but instead they attack the main monster. This leaves 3 or 4 monsters to return an attack on me instead of just one. Is there a formula to attacks? Are the Attacks simply random? Is there anything I can do to make my team "smarter"?

In the formation menu, you can choose targetting strategy. Yours is probably set to "battle freely", which is the default option. Most players use "target lowest HP", seems to be the most efficient tactic.

What team attacks first? I was under the impression that who ever was initiating the attack would always attack first .... unless a preemptive strike skill is involved. But lately, I attack another player and they attack me first with their entire team .. when I go over the Battle Log after the fight, they had no preemptive skill on any player.

So What determines who gets the first turn?

AA's will typically attack first because they have a higher built in (unseen) Agility value.
But the person who attacks first is the person with the higher agility.
So the person who beat you had either, an AA team, or a monster with an Agility skill that is higher than the one in your party.

Thanks, that helps and explains why when I changed out a monster with Agility increased .... it started happening more. I thought it was because the other team had a preemptive strike so I changed it with a Preemptive strike monster of my own.

So If you have a monster with Preemptive strike, only that monster will attack first (if it has a higher Preemptive than the other player)... then it switches to team Agility?
