no next button in tutorial

first i have to tell you i don't own this game myself, i'm asking this question on behalf of my stepfather.

the main problem is that he doesn't get the next button in the tutorial so he can't start playing.
i watched some videos on youtube about the game and i noticed that his tutorial box is lower than on the videos so my first thought is that the tut box is actually on top of the next button and hiding it this way.

another thing we noticed is that his game keeps downloading and installing the same update every time he starts the game.

i hope this is enough info for you guys to help us.

What device and operating system is he using the game on?

device: samsung galaxy mini GT-S5570
OS: android 2.3.4

I've had this problem- I can't do it on Droid X, and on the other thing, te game has a note that if you don't have enough storage or something to hold the updates, it will redownload every time

yeah he does get that note, but that shouldn't keep the next button from appearing, right?

ok then, should the problem be the android
version, what version should he use to make the game work?
