you ask me, it looks like there will be new cards for the ally invite(which means no more krups, celia, teravan's <male donkey>) and a tower event similar to the one that gave us the casts. sure hope i'm wrong, though.

Speaking of the ally invites, not criticizing anyone, but a legit question to those farming their own ally accounts: why knock yourself out for a BP16?

maybe because it helps make the 80 bp AA+ form more viable, with dea? or because it's so hard to get that you can sell it for a large amount of ep, more than any other 16 bp AA? i've seen krups reg going for 150+ ep, though the price may have dropped a bit by now. still, these low bp AAs are now rarer than anything except maybe ritual dark elf.

Didn't the free AAs also have DEA? I get the whole rarity thing, but in terms of actual usefulness, I don't see why anyone would consider spending 150 for a reg. That seems pretty silly to me. These weekend AAs with Health Up seem way more useful, and I see people looking to buy for 5. If people cared THAT much about rarity, I wish someone would buy crap like the black gear wraith and dai tengu I got with those revival summons a few events back.

yes, but the free AAs don't make a 3 combo 80 bp form, and have lower stats besides. rarity, level, and bp combos with dea and higher stats isn't really something to sneeze at. if they keep releasing 16 bp aas with a skill like dea, ipd, or(god forbid) health up, that form will look more and more promising. yes, it's a little baffling, but then this game isn't actually governed by any form of logic.

Yeah, I've been learning that the hard way. Well, if people really do pay three figures for these things, if ATeam ever does renew or reset that campaign, I guess a-farming I will go...

does the dea 16bp really make the 80bp form viable?

last I remembered the 80bp form was pretty terrible... when I was using an A-form I usually looked at an 80bp the same way as a species-less/guild-less A+ form (a.k.a. easy pickins). and aside from the #1 most popular 16bp skill-change of slumber, dea was the second most common, and that didn't really seem to make a significant difference even against an A form.

I suppose what should be noted about lowbp AAs is the new skilled ones. Sure, you won't get bp combo, but who cares about bp combo anyways.

something like

1: new 25bp healthup mystic
2: previous event 17bp ipd creation
3: 13bp 5m dl dea
4: 20bp from creature raise (kanna/huri/seta)
5: finish the team off with a cheap in-guild option like vlad for sin, ggd for psycho, wingarm for covert [banished not included because banished is unreasonably expensive for being functionally equivalent to ggd and wingarm; considering this slot purely as a ded slot; if you're not using wyrm combo, banished is unjustifiably expensive to use purely for ded]

3xcombo guild rarity level with healthup/ipa/dea/ded

obviously this may not be the optimal setup, but it's realistic for any guild to have a viable 5xAA relatively skilled form using primarily monsters that everyone already has a couple of lying around from events and just one 'affordable' real AA

larry, it's partly a question of which 16 bp monsters you use to make the 80 bp form. if you use dea 16 bp(which has stats oriented toward health and attack), two 16 bps matching your guild and to sin/tyranny 16 bps, with dea in the mix you can actually last a bit. it's still pretty terrible with 4 unskilled, but better than we had before.

that said, i know that you can certainly make a better form with some of the other low bp AAs. I myself am making a 86 bp form using flash, gulph+, lotus+, ruin+, and adan+ that has a pretty good skill spread, and should be able to handle most(if not all) A+ teams

Well the thing is; I would certainly consider your planned team viable since it has a good skill spread, and that sort of thing is precisely what I'm talking about when I say good AA entry level skilled low BP monsters.

But I really do not consider the 80bp form viable by any stretch of the imagination. It is simply too expensive for what it accomplishes. For being inherently inferior to the average A+ team, the evolution cost and maxing cost alone (in both gold, AND time required to collect sufficient sac material; unless you pay someone to do that in which case the whole thing ends up costing you more ep) are unreasonable.

The problem is that I think the only kind of person who would possibly benefit from an 80bp team is a player who cannot afford a 'real' A formation; but the flipside is although you can pick up a full 80bp team of 10 regs or 5 lvl 1 +s for less than it would take to buy a 'real' A form, the cost to evolve and/or max it is going to leave you with a disastrously subpar team for quite some time, and only to eventually achieve a subpar team. Furthermore; the type of person who would do this will probably not have the ep to pay someone to evolve/max them, or buy a maxed one outright, so they will be stuck with an under-leveled 80bp team for quite a long time until they can level them up.

There is also the issue of transferability of the 80bp team's members. The only ones which anyone finds really useful are hall, venus, and terra; and the people who want them almost universally already have them. the 80bp team is a ep, gold, and time sink. It's the ds equivalent of owning a boat.

Finally; dea. As I said earlier; 80bp team with dea can be consistently beaten by a decently skilled A form, and not even an 'optimal' A form, I know for a fact I fought quite a few 80bp teams with a hall cast (DEA) with my guild-less wing-less A wyrms (mld, nwd, kanna, ring, lind) and won every single time. And what I described isn't even a "real" A formation. Also, krups & co. cost about as much as a dea soul cost at the time I was describing fighting all those dea hall-cast led teams. Which makes the 80bp team even more expensive; practically invalidating it as an option for the 'target consumer' as described above.

My main problem with the 80bp form is that it is too damn inconvenient and expensive and time consuming for what it accomplishes. which in my book makes it 'un-viable'.

2. 80bp form
3. your average 100+bp A form; sin demons, psycho demons, covert beasts
4. your average 130+bp AA form

now let's look at tca of regs

1. covert A crawlers/80bp form
2. your average 100+bp A form
3. your average 130+bp AA form

not let's look at tco

1. covert A crawlers/average 100+bp A form [let's face it, As are trivial to max, you can evolve and max one in a single sitting burning a few ep during a tower event]
2. your average 130+bp AA form/80bp form [oh wait, this takes as long, and as much money to max as a 'real' AA team, don't know the ratio of gold cost to evolve/max As vs AAs, but the impression I got from maxing my As and AAs is that it is greater than a factor of ten)

They are wildcard as suspected: put 4 with a Sin card & you get a Sin formation.
