Moebius Bosses Empty Moebius Bosses

If you fail to kill a Moebius Boss, what happens? Does the next one you encounter get reset to lvl 1, remain at the same lvl, or move on to the next lvl? i.e. If I fail to kill a lvl 5 boss, will the next one be lvl 1, 5, or 6?

Yes, understand that the higher the mission levels the higher the boss can be but is it progressive or random?

I could've sworn I've had lvl 1 bosses spawn after level 5 bosses irrespective of whether I beat the level 1 boss or not.

Will monitor and report back in.

Hoping it's progressive but imagine it's random, just that higher mission levels allow the possibility of higher bosses; but not guaranteed that level 2 will appear after level 1, 3 after 2, etc.

It progresses based on how many bosses you've beaten in the current time period. there are 4 time periods, so you reset each time you get to a new one. I think the levels carry over once you get back to the first time period again, and build from there
