Does anyone know if the level or rank of the monster being sacrifice affects how much experience the monster being powered up will gain?

Not sure of the exact number but all I can say is, about 10 (max?) B's sacrificed to an A+ rank monster will get you about 2-3 levels at 3x-4x.

So if I sacrifice a B monster then I'll receive more exp then if I sacrifice a C monster?

Evan its true wht u say Bs get more exp than Cs...i think its more cheap and easy sacrifice C than B
