Ok so I have my team I use to rank in the weekly battle rankings. It has a 5bp cost every week seems to change on how many honor points I get during battles one week most battles net me 15 or better each battle the next week its nothing but 1s, well with my 5bp team I took down a 45bp team and I'm like hell yea I took down a huge team compared to mine this should be a 25 point fight for sure...........NOPE 1....1 yea 1 freaking point....I know the battle system dosent work right and I'm don't want to start another of tons of honor point or battle system threads....I just felt like bitching about this one battle. Honor points gained are based upon your opponents overall ranking, nothing else.

I'd say you are technically trying to cheat the system by using a 5 BP team... but yes, it is flawed.

huh i thought it was based on lvl of the person u beat

the level of the person you beat determines how much xp you get. honor is only based on the players ranking

yes, i can personally attest that honor point gained is solely based on honor points of the players involved. generally, attacking a player with at least 4000 more honor points than you will net you 25 honor from the battle, which is the maximum amount. 3000-3999 more is 22 honor, 2000-2999 is 19 honor, 1000-1999 16 honor, and about equal to 999 more is around 10-13 honor. if YOU have more honor than the opponent, you will start getting less than 10; if you have WAY more than the opponent, you'll only get 1 honor. exp works similarly, but is instead based on your levels.
