Yes, because it makes sense to pay big for monsters that will be worthless in a week.

It does if the prizes are good.

I have a Skel Dragon+ in the auction site right now (level 1), and just got an offer of 2EP and a Berith+ for him..

Have another Dragon+, a Leshy+, and an Amit+ (21) all of which will probably follow soon..

For this event, having a good team is probably the equivalent of having a "get more gems!" monster. That is, you get a better payoff from each ticket with a good team. So whatever the premium is on one of those monsters, that probably translates to the premium people are willing to pay to get a good team together.

Good analogy, because I also thought it was nuts for people to pay 50 EPs for one of those gem monsters
