New-Look Auction

When browsing through auctions, the auctioneer's level is now displayed next to their name.

WHY???

Out of all things the auction system needs, what purpose does this serve? It gives an idea of the player's experience, but not much else...

If anything, the auctioneer name should be made a link to their profile. From profile you should be able to go back to their existing auctions.

There are tons and tons of improvements people have mentioned including a search feature, improved filters, etc., and I really don't see what this latest change has improved on at all.

Any thoughts on this?

For medium level players (76) like me, it can only decrease our credibility as auctionners and decrease overall bid quality. People now have a number on which to judge, and it is not to the advantage of the weaker players...

Never had so many lowballs from high level players since (was usually a noob's thing). Felt kinda insulted after being offered a reg lv1 Vlad for my 200 ep auction (player was level 141).

Ouch, yeah some people may see it as an invitation to lowball...

I am just amazed that it's been months and months, and when they finally make a change to the auction, it is so trivial. Even detrimental to some players.

They did not even announce the change in-game, like they usually would. To me this implies that it merely serves as a cosmetic effect, not really intending to improve the quality or function of the auction feature. It's kind of sad to me, I really hope this isn't the only change in store for the auction house.

I agree with everything said here, but to play Devil's Advocate for a bit - has anyone who is a high level player noticed a decrease in lowball offers? I can see people who lowball deciding to avoid high ranked players. And since high ranked players "tend" to dominate the top pages of the auction house, maybe that means less crud they have to deal with.

But yeah, in any case, it's a very weird change for them to make after so long.

They also limited the amount of text that can be displayed when viewing all auctions. That's probably the only useful feature they have implemented.
No more reading a page of some guy's life story.

You know what would be a useful feature for the auction house? just something which told the owner what page their auction was on.


It took over an hour yesterday for some guy to find my ep bid for his gold. Seriously.

I avoid the auction house like the plague, unfortunately it's the only channel of trade for gold

Now that's some good news!

i noticed the lvl addition ... totally useless IMO and really goes against lower ranked players.

it really should have been the guild that they belong to (imp, cov, tyr)
this would help you when trading cards since most don't list that guild they are.
