4 Million anniversay- Gold campaign

So A - team has made a campaign to win AA's, dark summons, spirits etc
with gold as entry fee lol...

What do you guys think about this?

I'm guessing all the top players who have max AA's will prob use all of their
20 mil gold to enter the draws.

And all the people who banked their gold are probably going to use it all, seems that's what A-team is trying to do

Once again, the A Team belief that gold=very bad, continues to mystify me...

I have the feeling that everyone is going to pump gold into the spirit prize, and absolutely nothing else...

seriously; three spirits are more valuable than damn near any summonable AA

(which on the flip side might make the AA prizes actually easier to win lol)



By the way; why the hell are they making it so hard to get dea spirits?
they've been releasing the others on weekly rank, and maybe ONE dea was available once for 2nd or 3rd place a few weeks ago... and now they're going to release 300 spirits, but not a single dea...

evidence based theories? cold hard conjectures? anybody?

It's because 100s of DEAs were distributed in that event a while back... and then a week after that, they introduced a slew of AAs that already had DEA. At this point, DEA is the last thing most people want to see.

And yes, the prize structure is yet more evidence that A Team doesn't understand the economy within their own game. Or, it's evidence that they want to start making skill change spirits more commonplace, what with the introduction of all these skill-less monsters that would otherwise be worthless.

If I have to choose between incompetence and altruism... ummmm... well...

Well I dumped 120k into it....I feel dumb but oh well....the hope of winning something is fun though....I guess that what matters....right..........nope I'm just dumb.....

Someone mentioned once though that these lotto event are pretty much predetermined before it even starts....I'm not sure how accurate that may be but hey who knows

but that was the tickets tied to purchases; wherin it would be reasonable to assume that the 'lotto tickets' you get from dark summons were much more likely to get you something, than the 'lotto tickets' you get for free

Functioning like this;
Let's say we're going to release 100 prizes!

98 of these will be tied to tickets which will be awarded to random purchasers
2 will be tied to tickets that are awarded for free randomly

so it's not ENTIRELY per-determined, but it is deterministic


I don't really see them mucking this one up without a significant effort. I mean they certainly COULD if they wanted to, but I don't particularly see the fiscal incentive to rig this one. And even if they did 'rig' it to give accounts with a high purchase history scalably higher chances of winning; the lack of advertisement seems to make this unlikely, and a complete waste of effort to determine and implement some sort of algorithm to rig it. The goal is not to 'secretly' reward your paying customers, the goal is the make people pay more in the hopes of receiving rewards; and since there isn't really anything you can 'buy' to give you a better chance to win, I don't see any reason for this to be unfair.

Looking at the final results, this contest sucked over 10 billion in gold out of the game. Instead of changing AH rules, they should've just done a contest like this in the first place. Banking problem solved!

Does anyone remember how many my100s were being given away? If someone could win 3 times with only .0003 of the total entries, there were either a ton given out, or the method of winner selection wasn't random

I think it was 10,000 sets of 3 if I'm not mistaken.

I'm happy I didn't win the Dark Summon prize.

It's going to be such a let-down after winning the lottery, summoning a bunch of nagas and bee queens.

I put in 150k into various slots and pulled 6 100ep. That is equal to 1.5ep reg to me so not a bad tradeoff
