Skill stacks Empty Skill stacks

What is the best way to make a skill stack without wasting a skill. Sometimes when making a stack instead of leveling the skill or powering up. It just levels the monster. Is there a level I should get a card to before leveling the skill or is there a way to minimize the losing of skills without leveling up a card completely? Thanks in advance for replies.

No. The level the card is at has no bearing whatsoever on skill leveling. There is a chance of failure when leveling a skill. When a skill up fails, than it counts as such a regular sacrifice and the monster level up. There is a tread somewhere in tactics on how best to level skill up to 20.
