Monster Skill Question

Hello,
Im still kinda new to Dark Summoner. Im wanting to know if there is a way to change the skill of a monster.???

ok i did a search. found out you can add skills to a monster. but say i have a monster with decrease Enemy Def and i wanna change it to Decrease Enemys Att... can that be done? or does the monster have to have no skills. to add a skill. ?

When using a spirit on ANY monster, the skill changes to whatever the spirit provides.

I used a thunder spirit on my balrog+ which normally has covert down... it now has celestial lightning.
