Evolving versus skill level up? Empty Evolving versus skill level up?

Post by Mistrice Fri Jun 08, 2012 3:23 pm

So I had two Hail Tarasques with Increase Party Defense skills, both of rarity B. I wanted to evolve one with the other so that I could participate in the B/B+ tournament with B+'s and have a better chance at winning battles - but when I sacrificed one to the other, I got a skill level up instead. So, leveling up skill trumps evolution which trumps skill change?
Will this also happen when sacrificing A's? I have a lost woods leshy of rarity A and the skill venomous breath. I would like to get another leshy to evolve my current one to rarity A+, but would that work?

Evolution only works with A's and AA's, not B's or C's.

I see, thanks.
So for sacrificing A's, evolution would happen whenever possible before skill leveling up?

Yep. In order of priority:

1. Evolution
2. Skill Changes (With Anima Spirit)
3. Skill Level Up
4. Level Up

Awesome, ok, so then, what happens if I have a monster with skill level 3 and I evolve it? I know monster level resets, but will skill level reset too?

Yes, what most posted, skill resets to 1 when evolving.

steve, you based that comment on what happens when you evolve at skill 1, didn't you? like everyone else has said, skill resets as well as level when evolving, it just isn't readily apparent when you have never tried evolving a monster with a skill higher than 1, lol.
