Anyone else having problems with skills.

Post by some guy on Mon Nov 26, 2012 6:14 pm

ive been trying to level up my monsters psycho down skill. first i had a failure trying to go from skill 1 to 2. After that i got it to skill 3 without problems, now trying to go from skill 3 to 4 ive had 6 failures in a row. im pretty pissed at the amount of ep ive wasted buying these skills for nothing. Before i could always use singles upto skill 5 then i start using stacks. do i now need to stack skills just to go from skill level 3 to 4?.

Also i dont understand how your supposed to get skills these days. Events have stopped giving any skill monsters so i farmed first raid crystals until i had 40 rank b summons, out of 40 rank b summons i got two skills, slumbering breath and pre strike. For me its not worth that much time or effort just to get useless skills.

Sorry for the rant but is anyone else having problems like this?.

Anyone have any advice that dosnt involve paying to dark summon a blood blob.

they changed the skill up tables a few weeks ago, what tends to be the best way to skill up is Skill 1-3 1 Stack, Skill 4 2 stack, Skill 5-20 4 stack. Honestly the best way I get my skill monsters is from ally summons, B summons always seems to give me an overload of DEA/IPD, most my guild down comes from ally points. The RNG from Skilling has sucked pretty bad, you arent alone.

i'm at lvl 15 on my team and i've started to switch to 5stacks, esp for agility after 2x 4stacks failed.

Did they change the skill system again cause I can not get from 3 to 4 using a 2 stack I have to do a 3 into a 3....anyone else have that issue or just me

I finally finished an Agi 4 stack after losing 8 cards making it (lost 4@1->2; 4@3->4). Sacc'ed it onto my 12, and lost it. Sad

Must use moar Zen.

it's really random

i accidentally sacrificed my skillchanged omni kanna+ (dea) to a berith, and the berith stayed at dea(1) and gained 1 monster level

i also got my lindwurm from (12) to (20) with ZERO failures

the only thing that'll help you is sacrificing a goat or a virgin to the rng and doing a little dance

when saccing stacks to your monster skill try not cancelling the animation at all and let it run its full duration

I do this and derided for saying so! Funny how those doing the laughing are the same ones complaining of failures where I lose way less than 1 in 10.

I don't remember the particulars, but I think I saw that thread.

It's certainly not hurting your chances for a successful skill increase, but I wouldn't venture to say that something like that will decrease the chance for skill failure.

Consider for a moment the algorithm that governs the success rate of skill increase when sacrificing.
we don't know what it is. but based on widespread observation, a few things about that black box have been determined; i.e. (4) having a relatively low failure rate from 5-20, (5) having a nearly perfect retention rate, etc...

IF you were the coder at A-team, would you have written this algorithm based on TWO simple integer variables? (current skill of monster being sacrificed to, and current skill of monster being sacrificed) or many more? (skill of sacrifice [int], skill of sacrificed too [int], animation watched [bool] , and something else you had in that other thread about leveling up monsters in-between sacs [array list of level up history], and possibly other things as well?)

It just seems highly improbable that all these other little things would make a difference; because it seems highly improbably that someone would make a convoluted enough algorithm to allow all of those other things to make a difference.

which is not to say it is impossible but the situation which would have to exist for all of these other variables to matter seems incredibly unlikely in itself

finally, your personal sacrifice experiences where you lose less than 1 in 10 are what can be called strictly anecdotal. The sample size is far too small to generalize and recommend.

Like I said earlier, I did 12-20 with ZERO fails ((4) to 18, (5) to 20), at the same time one of my clan members was complaining about having something like 8 (4) failures trying to get their lind to 18. It is more of rng than anything else, and while it is fun to try and find some sort of explanation or rituals to justify things like that, it is really just rng. EACH iteration is independent of previous ones, and someone could get from 1 to 20 with nothing but (1)s, just as someone could waste 20 (5)s and not gain a single level.

I actually find leveling the receiving monster seems to help. This one does not seem far off for inclusion in the algorithm because they use it for sac gold costs. Higher sac mons is lower gold cost.

There's no doubt in my mind it was made harder to level skills again.

I failed back to back stacks of 4 dea trying to go from skill 7 to 8.

Then failed a stack of 4 ipa going from 16 to 17, got to 17, faild from 17 to 18.

Making stacks is of 4 is way harder than it used to be.

Maybe bad luck, but 4 stacks of 4 failing in 3 days where I've never had that many total fail before? It's harder imo.

I don't think think canceling the animation has anything to do with it; I cancel or let it ride fequently.I have noticed in my short/small quest of leveling skills that some skills have a higher fail rate and some monsters eat skills more often than others.

Maybe it's just a constant string of good and bad luck that has formed a pattern. All I know is I'm more than annoyed that my MLD went from 1-18 with no fails and now he's turned on me and has eaten three stacks. So hopefully a five skill will finally get me to 20.

I have given up on making stacks with Ladon because he thinks he's supposed to be leveled. My fail rate with agility makes my ep hurt.

I can't remember which skills I had no problem doing singles to four still, and I can't afford to test it out so I play it safe now.

lol I'll try test what I can, but the form monsters that I actually use are +m(20)s, so all the saccing I do is for the sake of making stacks to sell. aka, low level monsters B/+s and throwaway A/+s (aspid, pit, gigas, etc). I think I have sacrifice animation turned OFF alltogether on options, so I doubt that'll make a difference if you can turn it on and off, and I guess if it CAN make a difference, then that's just crappy design on A-Team's part Razz

almost certainly anecdotal unless many others can corroborate this experience, but berith is notoriously bad for stacking dea. aside from the minor indiscretion I mentioned about accidentally saccing a deaAA+ to one, I know that the I get quite a bit of stack fails with berith when I'm dealing with dea, primarily at first level. On the other hand, I've found sand giants to be very good at absorbing ipd, and moonlight bird to be terrific at absorbing ipa. Caim is no good at absorbing agi, but saccing a caim(4) to something seems to have a high success rate of raising the level. white wing archer takes agi very well, and I don't mess with elven heroine who doesn't seem to be very good at taking or particularly noteworthy for raising when used as a sacrifice itself.

once again; anecdotal, DO NOT go and do all your saccing according to this and send me an angry email because it doesn't work

however, I think the possibility for certain monsters having an innate modifier of skill retention seems quite plausible

Berth and caim have been good to so fair when it comes building and and giving stacks. Sand giants and moonlight birds have also been very nice at taking skills. Havent failed yet building a stack. So far my lindwurm seems to prefer b monster stacks for skills ups. He finds pits rather appetizing.

Thanks to my MLD at first I thought skill stacks didn't fail at max level, but lindwurm was kind enough to smack that thought down, and then MLD soon followed.

I don't understand why Ateam would have such a seemingly random system.
