Sad to see ateam's greed slowly crushing a great game

Listen, I understand when the day is done they have to make money. But I'm starting to realize ateam's position on this game is "let's make as much money as possible, run the game into the ground, and move on". The two progs in the last event were a total joke. The first one was essentially useless, and the second one was amazing. I ended up ranking 172nd, but I know a bunch of people who were ranked high and dropped out because they didn't want to pay 100+EP for the second prog. I can live with that...what I can't live with is 3 MASSIVE EP intensive events in a row. They are literally crushing the selling market. 2.5 weeks ago Grizel and Tlon were 400+ EP, they are selling on the leaderboards for 225-250 as we speak. Honestly I can suck it up and live with this as well, but the thing that has me 1 step from quiting is the new ranking system. In their greed ATeam makes it so 500 people from any guild can rank (to sell more EP) and I am unfortunately sin. My AA reward from the last event sells for 275-300EP while the rancor reward sells for 450+. I get it, they are way more rare, however the people getting them spent the same amount of EP...they just luckily picked a weaker guild. I used to spend a lot of money on the game, but honestly what's the point in ranking when we all do the same amount of work, but my AA is 1/2 the value. There's a line between making a profit and being greedy b@stards, and ATeam has definitely begun to cross it. P.S. bring back the 15BP tournament, it was EPIC.

While your complaint is legitimate there main one has nothing to do with greed. Its just you chose the wrong guild. Before this people were making the same complaint when ranking was separate. The top rancor was particularly behind the last ranked sin. They spend 1/3 or less and get just as powerful of a monster. There is no fair way of doing this unless they do a ranking that is somehow proportional to number of player in each guild or a easier solution is to allow guild switching. They are releasing better monsters for the other guilds to try to drive people away from Sin but that doesn't work as new player don't know these differences.

The greed comes from packing events in one after another but I already see posts on here of ppl complaining events are too long already. Well, the more event, the faster monsters lose value. That's the way it is and you can't please everyone. Personally, I prefer a much more casual game and have events space out more but it seems others like it this way more and if Ateam can get ppl to constantly go for events than of course they will turn them out.
The other really greedy thing is all the free summons including epic dark are crap. They weren't before but they are now and when is the last time Ateam release new A/B that aren't event limited? Its been months.

People have been complaining about A-Team being greedy and ruining the game for about as long as this game has existed. And honestly, from my perspective the game has only gotten better. Yes, A-Team screws up the economy fairly regularly. That's probably a good thing in the end, since it prevents players from developing pseudo-monopolies.

It's perfectly possible to succeed in this game without paying a cent. Especially if you stay up to date on information sites like this forum. Compared to other games where you reach level caps you need to pay your way out of, or you have monsters that you can't get (even through trade) unless you pay... Dark Summoner is really pretty OK. Not that they don't love their money - no arguing that.

For all we know, they are trying to reset the EP economy right now. That would explain all these EP intensive events. Maybe they plan to do this so they can release a clan event without having the top clans with stockpiled EP just steamroll over everyone quite so easily. Who knows? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Also, while a buyer's market is annoying to sellers, it's also great for buyers : ). Can't please everyone.

I would love a 15 BP or a B-Rank tournament. I've been saving up teams for both, but apparently my patience is not going to be rewarded any time soon : ).

Lol, they've gotten better...I'm pretty sure they just released another 2nd prog, which gives you x6 mission progress instead of x4.

I am almost at my limit here.
This new 2nd prog was even worse than the last time they did it!
I am even bidding on an auction right now for the old prog. I went from hoping the bastard accepts my offer to hoping he rejects it! Complete bullshit.
Combine that with clearing most of the first 100 floors before they implemented the boost zones and I am firmly convinced I shouldn't ever play DS until the last day of any event because they will just screw me.



On a side note, I bought a X11 dark summons when I saw this new prog. 1 prog my guild, 8 B's with skills and 2 so-so A's.

And the tyranny prog is a creation too which pisses me off even more.

sell the prog you just summon now while its hot and recover your losses.

Yeah I'm thoroughly pissed off right now. I bought 40 ice crystals and all i got were 2 progs and garbage. I also used the 11 dark summon pack, and again all garbage with the exception of a dru, which is only slightly better.

Now they punish the people who paid their own money to get the first progs by releasing better ones? WTF.

It's getting harder to get a "useful" skill monster from raid crystal as well. Got dozens of no skill B monsters.

Not to mention skill level up failure had increased a lot.

Their idea is that their mid-ranking event rewards is worth the early prog. The late prog is to milk the event a second time before it ends.

Does anyone think that releasing 2 progs for the same event will eventually drive off all the mid-level players that see their greed starting to show?

I've been playing for a few months and can remember some fun team events and when the progs weren't going for 100 eps in the AH ... now its heavy EP driven events and 2 different progs for the same event?!

If they keep going down this path, not sure how long I'll stick around. If a friend and I didn't manage to land an early prog I don't think I would even hit 200 lvls cause I don't want to burn my EPs on this event.

Well, the best way to stop this trend is to vote with your dollar/ep. I was not impress with the crystal summon prog and especially with the second prog so I'm going to vote with my ep and not participate. I'll just use up the daily energy and see if they will release a better event. There are plenty of games out there, I don't have to engage in one not worth my time.

The price of progs has gotten quite rediculous. I can remember events where progs were 5-10EP each. An IRL friend of mine that just started playing DS bought a x11 Dark Summon yesterday and got: a new sin prog, a new psycho prog, Formless Nyarr, and Fate Collosus, Urth. He got extremely lucky, because I know quite a few people who got 8+ Bs from their x11 Dark Summon. Also, I have noticed that raid crystals are giving WAY more skilless Bs than they used to as well (supporting a previous post).

Case in point: I just did 31 B rank summons and got 6 skilled and 25 unskilled monsters.

I hear you! My 200 check is currently on 136 with 86 unskilled. This morning did just 8 and had 7 unskilled. Really sucks when the one you do get then fails to level up a level 1 skill! Have one stack I am building with the monster on level 8 at the moment with skill (3) it has failed so many times. Must have swallowed up close to 10 skilled monsters to gain 2 levels!

I don't think that A-Team is to blame for prog prices. The price of progs has only gone up with demand. The players determine the price of these as they sell them. I don't think A-Team is to blame for this at all.

I can see how the first lot of progs in the current event are higher in value as they were harder to obtain. But either way, the players determine the prices for everything.

Actually they are. For this event, the initially limited to crystal only so price of prog was every high as not many ppl can get the crystals and get to epic flame to try to catch one.

In previous events. Progs were very common from dark summons so within a day or two they drop significantly whereas in the last 2-3 they were harder to summon raising the price.

I still like to attribute the price raise to progs as a result of the removal of free dark summons for new accounts (which people abused heavily). But yes, the ice crystals were certainly cause for a further increase in prices.
