I think it's generally 'rude' to attack someone with less honor points than you, although to tell the truth I have attacked someone a second time when I'm short on gold and I see that I got a big payout from the last battle Razz. but not that often, just when I'm feeling a little ocd about clan donations being 10 or 20k short of the next "rounded" 50k increment.

There is no such thing. They limit the battle to once a day when it use to be free for all than down to 3 times a day. I think once a day is more than enough limit. I get attack daily and does the same to others rank about me. Its the only way to maintain a high overall ranking.

The only time I stop is if the person ask me to which happen once in awhile when I'm farming someone for gold but really if you don't want to lose gold, just bank it.

I would personally say it's rude to try to have the other guy post on your wall so you can farm him. Beyond that, once a day is fine, if they don't like being farmed, just bank.

As I side note, what's considered big enough to bank? I bank every coin above 10k generally.

I like to bank whatever gold I have left over every time I finish sacrificing to my formation in the clan funds Razz

But on a separate note; how do you get people to attack you?! I've attacked over 100 people, and I've only been attacked 11 times! What gives?!

When I'm looking for people to attack, I try find people who have more honor points than me (I have ~1000, at level ~40), and I feel like I have to refresh quite a few times to find someone to attack, which makes me think that most people around my level should consider me a good target to attack for honor points! But attacks just trickle in Sad ... occasionally I luck out and see that someone attacked me and lost 15-20k, and I immediately hit them again for another 15-20k, but most of the time I have to just randomly attack people with no idea how much gold I'm going to get...

Is there a way to encourage attacks against oneself? To make yourself an 'inviting target'? (other than being in the top rankings)

well the max gold they can take is 10% so i think at 10k that's a little annoying for auctioneers. I don't usually bank until 70k or so.

Best way to invite attacks: have a rank C monster as your leader, and four maxed monsters backing it up(if you plan to win). Or, have an exceedingly tempting B/A that people think is weak. Of course, more intelligent people who read win/loss will easily see this, but most people probably don't look at this.

Also, it seems the max gold loss is slightly higher than 10%: Maybe 15% seems more correct. Maybe try it the next time you lose?

hmmm... i guess I can see how that would work, but I dont want to lose my 5x combo Razz

Maybe I should change my player status to something like "I have over 10 million gold for sale for ep, just ask and I'll put it in auction" or something lol!

Where did this "once a week" idea come from? If that was the case, the limit would be once per week, not once per day.

Here's some battle common sense, rather than etiquette: unless you have a very, very strong party, don't post a taunt on someone's wall for no reason. Chances are, the rest of that person's clan will immensely enjoy demonstrating to you why that was a bad idea.

Could be fun if u did have a very strong team tho. You could just sit and rack up the gold from failed attacks. Automated gold farming stratedgy??

Just wondering if you guys attack other teams with thier progs out? Some guy attack me when I switched to my full prog lineup trying to rank, and I was pretty annoyed by it. I never attacked anyone when I see a team full of progs b/c its not fair. Do you guys/gals care or is it just me?

I think it's just you. I can sort of understand being annoyed by it, but try to see it from the other player's perspective: they're probably trying to get some honor and have a not too great A+ form. They're combing the top rankings looking for someone they can beat and see you with a prog leader. Tapping your name, they see you have a full prog line up, so they attack. This happens so frequently during events that, honestly, I wouldn't care(not that I ever use progs as I just can't justify their price most of the time but if I used them, I wouldn't hold it against others who attack me when I have them out.). Unfortunately for you, there is nothing that you can do about it happening other than not using progs. Sucks, I know, but there is no "honor" in this game, the honor points are just a ranking system, not a measure of your real world "honor"; there is only win and lose.

steve, you'll be surprised at the attitudes of players on the top rankings. just a few hours ago i was taunted by HaVoC of tyrannical brutes for doing what is after all a fairly common occurrence, lol. people need to realize that the "honor" we all chase after has nothing to do with real life honor, lol. and yes, Dagger, it is just a part of the game, i'm guilty of doing that myself and i'm proud of it(though in my situation i really have to swallow my pride, since i'm in the top 60 overall and i'm sin. the number of players giving 10 or more honor is quite small for me, so i have to do what i have to do to keep my rank or advance further up)

Doesn't surprise me to hear that there's an attitude problem from clans that go around poaching members from other clans.

@ Flying Dagger, really its a coward move. Alot frown on it as it's a garbage way to make money, and if you make it a point to farm progs, be ready to be farmed by tough teams once an event is over or done. I do not attack anyone, with even just one prog up. I feel, like many its cheating and alot wish there was event based forms so that this cheap way of playing would stop.

This whole prog thing is a non-issue

If you at any time have a particular team up; it can be attacked. That's not a moral judgement, that's how the game actually works.

This is especially true if you're on the rankings; you are part of a relatively small subset of the entire player population which will be targeted by the entire set (ranked folks too) heavily for honor points. It's all about honor points at some point. And frankly, if only people on p 1-100 give me 25 honor points, and due to arbitrary battle restrictions I can only attack say X of them per day, X < total attacks I can MAKE per day due to battle point recharge rate; If one of then has progs up, I'm not letting that slide "for the day".

I look at prog teams much like those single C teams. I use those to 'finish off' spare bp which is not enough to warrant a full team attack; mainly for honor points.

And the truth is; most people don't mind.

Armitaage you mentioned Havoc, I attacked havoc when they had their progs up a few days ago, I received a ":(" emoticon, and we joked a little bit about how annoying it was to get attacked while having progs up. I haven't attacked 'em since.

There are probably about 5-10 people at any given time who are running progs on rank 1-100, and I think I've attacked most of them at some point over the past week, as earlier stated; when I was just finishing off bp that was insufficient to field the full team. Nobody has contacted me to complain (with one HILarious exception), so I don't really see what the problem is, and will keep using those to finish off spare bp whenever the situation arises.

Now the other thing about this is attacking progs also leads to people acting like enormous babies, which is certainly a plus in my book. Very Happy

Rank 29 Player: beez

has been having a bona-fide tantrum every single time I attack, posting threats and taunts; "nice job you beat my progs, I'm gonna attack you every day from now on". "u attack progs, you are weak, you are garbage" (loosely paraphrased, some have fallen off wall due to other posts).

Unlike Havok, I AM going to hit this guy every chance I've got. Why? because every line he posts is comedy gold. And the thought that I'm making some teenager red-faced with anger and frustration over a cellphone game is far more of a reward than any honor points, gold, AAs, etc... Razz

I don't attack prog leaders looking for an easy win, I attack them because they are more likely to have gold. At my current level most attacks yeild 2k or less. However if I happen across a guy who is focused on burning through EP then they might well be building up a decent gold stash.

I should add that for the most part I try and find the strongest teams to fight. Partly to test myself and partly hoping that they don't bank as they feel (wrongly) that they are strong enogh not to need to.

With banking being so easy to do though if you are getting farmed because you have gold and don't act to protect it then the onus is on you to do so not the attacker to desist.

while havoc is not making threats, that piece i highlighted in red is precisely what his comments on my wall amounted to, lol. i still hit him when he's among the last on page 1 left with a prog team up and i need the honor, but frankly, i don't make it a point to farm him every day because he's being a bit immature to try the taunting game. for me gold isn't an issue, especially the last couple of days, when i've had a fairly easy time with getting trades for dark lord crystals and using them(for 1 ep i can go through 2 ep worth of crystals(assuming a rate of 15:1)), so if i'm hitting a prog team, it's for honor.

I agree with dagger and KrystaK,

it's just dicky to kick someone when they're down.

and everyone admitted they do it to help themselves, and therefore it isn't a dick move?

For the sake of fairness and the enjoyment of ALL players, it's best in my opinion to attack players that are only at full steam!
