How do you go about choosing the "right" clan? Empty How do you go about choosing the "right" clan?

I know this is a slightly strange question, but I am looking for advice/suggestion on choosing the "right" clan for someone that is new but not so new in the game.

I struggle on, I think, two major issues:

1) Sometime it is hard to tell much about a clan (will you get along with the clannies, are they hardcord CL/event clan) until you join them. There some clan has minimal cp requirement, but it hardly tells me anything about the team battle strategy (how do they organize ahead of CL, how do they communicate etc)

2) I only play this game for six months and sometime I am not 100% sure what I really want, or should expect from a clan, except that I want to participate in CL.

So far I have played this game for only six months, but I have been with 4 different clans. My first clan is a very small clan with few actives. My last clan is one of the best clan in DS in CL. However, it is a French speaking clan and I don't speak a single word in French. Very quickly I feel very isolated because I hardly connect with other clannies expect attending fights. My current clan has the nicest clannies I have ever come across. They are very generous really going extra mile to help out each other. Unfortunately they are not very competitive. After losing against most actives clan around our level in last CL, I find the situation very distrubing.

I thought about keep trying out different clans until I find the right one for me, but I think I will become a clan hopper if I follow this path. The generals in my previous clans were not too happy that I left. I don't wish to make enemies in this game or start any drama.

Anyone can kindly give me some suggestion? Much appreciated.

I don't think there's any substitute for doing your research and talking to generals before you join.  You've been around a while, so you have an idea of which clans are competitive in CL and which aren't.  So find some you think you'd fit in and ask them about their requirements (# battles per day, power, etc.).  Any good clan will give you a detailed description of what they expect from you and what they can offer in terms of help with monsters, prog sharing, event activity, etc.

You'll probably find it easiest to contact them through LINE, Kakao, KIK, etc. after you've made contact in game.

Before entering a clan, tell the clan general that you might leave after the ranking brawl because:
1) you want to join different clan to learn different tatics.
2) your friends are going to form a private clan in one month, and they want you.

Not sure if the clan general will like it, but this will make you looking better if you have to leave one day.

To answer your question:
It is quite impossible to determine which clan is good for you before you enter it. Need Trial/ error, and need luck.
Clan is changing everyday. Yesterday tough clan, might be a lazy dead clan today. I have seen clan losing 6-7 emissary in the middle of Rank Brawl because of disagreement in tactics.

FrankF, rkhtse, thanks for the advice. I will do more research going forward but I do think I need to keep trying for a while. I think, part of it is I have to figure out what is the right question to ask.

Just to say more about my situation. I just moved to a new clan, of which I did have a chat with the GM about their battle strategy, requirement, their history etc. While I was told that they are top 5 in the platinum block, I signed in for the past few battles noticing 3 of out 5 EMs are missing in the fight, and there were at least 2 battles in the past two days where 25 ppl withdrawn out of a 28 ppl clan. Pre-battle planning and discussion are next to non-existance. I tried to start a conversation but there is hardly any response.

I suppose, this is my version of a retirement clan despite they told me they are active. "We are lay back in jewel" does not cut it for me. If people are coming to me with big words like "family" or "loyalty", I expect they know responsibilities comes with those words. For those who are spending few hours everyday at event, but can't bother to sign up for em and fight 10 min to knock out a dead clan, I am not sure if I want to be friend with them at all.

Sorry for the rant. One day when the forum is revived, you know that I have all sort of stories to tell.

Next.
