I believe DED says it offensive..so to maximize DED on a card..the attack should be high correct?

I think so...by the definition of word.

But if IPA and DED are almost the same thing, why IPA spirit is more expensive than DED spirit?

Anybody can answer this? I also want to know.

LOL! Thanks for the response!  Its almost double (meaning the price between dea/ded and ipa).  Some skills are def and off.  But ded says its strictly offensive..I need to change things around..thanks again man  Shocked

this is completely my own theory so feel free to disagree Smile

IPA affects your team.
ded affects the enemy team.

people like ipa

most people build teams based around the highest atk(and there r more atk bonuses too, in addition to the attacker advantage, ie: speed, that encourages high atk numbers)

therefore you know you are getting the most bang for your buck, since its percentage based

while you dont know the defence on the other guys team, usually it will be a lesser number than their atk.

for instance, suppose you and the enemy run atk of 1000 and defense of 800

20% of 1000 atk is 200
20% of 800 defence 160

so with ipa you gain 200, but with ded the enemy loses only 160

now of course the situation changes if the other guy has higher defence than atk but thats rare and itll probably be a bad team anyways.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

and this is also the same reason DEA is the next most expensive normal skill. it affect the highest number on the enemy team, their atk.

Another reason is that in the damage calculation, attack is weighted more highly than defense, so even if attack wasn't normally higher than defense for the reasons stated above, the calculation they used would make it higher anyway.

Thanks Applesauce, your calculation is making sense. Most team is having higher offense than defend.

Thanks Ryesteve, you are stating that attack is the main calculation component. This also explain why DEA spirit is the other expensive spirit after IPA spirit.

This piece of information will also help me to choose my relica. I have a relica that minus opponent 10% attack, I guess I will keep it for the rest of my life.

Ryesteve's post explains why IPA and DEA are more valuable than DED and IPD.  To be more specific the supposed damage calculation reduces the ATK by 50% of DEF so ATK is sort of like twice as valuable as DEF.  That's all speculation as far as I know though.
