Someone correct me if I am wrong at any point, but there are spirits in game that when sacrificed, change the skill of the creature they are sacrificed to. A defense spirit would give increase party defense to the creature it is sacrificed to, but only if the sacrifice is done using just one creature (the defense spirit).

If you've managed across such a card, you might see what you can get for it at auction, I expect people pay well for things like this that let them enhance their high end front line teams.

prices differ depending on what spirit.
