Laced Lores

I have been playing some League of Legends lately, and it got me to thinking...

Why is Dark Summoner's lore so lacking?

Wouldn't it be cool if there was a monster named Sei White Knight, (name) who rivaled Sei Black Knigh, Arin, and because Arin's lore is something like:

master swordsman, practically no one has landed a hit on him

and wouldn't it be nice if White Knight had lore like

Brother of Arin, one of the only swordsmen to ever land a hit on him, etc...

or maybe make a monster like Cowardice Encourager, (name)

he would rival Courage Preacher, Odin (get it?) and his lore is something that has to do with rivaling odin and being in an endless struggle with him over a certain world or something...

Maybe make a version of Kotone before 'something' happened to her to make her so repulsive, or maybe Kotone's sister, who is beautiful rather than Grudge Movie looking... again, lacing the lore with traces of a story relating to eachother...

Maybe Thunder Hammer Donner is Odin's Son?

What if Victoria is married to Typhon?

Asura once served under Luka before gaining his demonic power and deserting?

What about Taroth, his lore has something about leading minions who are "hideously slaughtered" after they have no more use, maybe make an A rank who is one of his minions who got away?

There are so many options, people!

I doubt we could ever convince Ateam to do something like this, but do any of you have any ideas for "laced lores" you would put in the game?

They could do one like the very hungry caterpillar about stinger swoop



and after he eats enough and gets really sleepy, he grows up into a




or the 'carbuncle fun hour' sounds like a good children's show

Actually what I think would also be cool would be like little web episodes with some dark summoner back story....or a comics book

start a fan fic thread or something.
you can add in lore about the different NPC summoners, like how Jenkins is McFly's apprentice.

Think I might have to do that:) should be especially great because there is hardly story enough to follow! No boundaries! The forum people can write the history of Dark Summoner

i wonder if there's a way to see all the monster descriptions in one place, kind of like how the bestiary lists all the monster stats. Those descriptions might provide a little bit of backstory whenever there is some lore.

I remember seeing one that essentially looked like it was quoting a verse out of some made-up book... no idea which monster that was though, lol.

but you could incorporate some of that stuff into the story / lore, like including whomever supposedly made that quote and why, if that makes sense

yeah, all the raid bosses have some quoted description as if from something else

I'll have to check into the raid bosses then once I summon up the productivity to create the fan fic thread

How about a toy-story style ds story?

like all the little critters are cognizant of their existence as characters in a game, but while people aren't playing (logged off) they're all actually friends and go on cute little adventures and learn lessons about life and stuff?

like there can be a special episode about how a bunch of monsters deal with one of their old friends moving away and getting to know the "new guy"?

like when a monster gets directly replaced like what mesh did to vritra, or what cannon did to spite

I kind of envision it like that care bears tv cartoon, and McFly can be the grand villain who has schemes that the monsterbuddies have to foil using each of their special powers together (special powers based on skills; pit is really fast, gorger can overwhelm defenses, mad flame can catch things on fire, etc...)

I think that could be like a really cute children's show

I'll be serious about it, though.

i need to update the database in the party calc in my sig with the latest monsters and their stats, but i'm also thinking on adding an extra field for monster lore and filling in the lore for the monsters that i have already, lol. will let you know how that goes soon.

on a related note, anyone ever check DCC's lore? no wonder i just HAD to cast them in a concert stage in front of a crowd in the funny monster pictures thread by JessicaMD. their lore reads: "Chanters that sing with a growling, devilish voice. Drunk on the pleasures of life." as accurate a description of the vocal style of heavy metal as any i've ever seen, lol.
